WOYWW 250

Hello there,

This is how my desk looks this week.

This is how it has looked for the past few days because I have been unable to do any more to this journal page because I'm afraid my thumb has got worse again. I was tempted too early into using it again. The figure was drawn with my non-dominant hand but the damage was done when it came to the collage pieces as I needed to use my right hand for the cutting and the gluing.  So I am afraid it has come to a stand still.

I want to say, once again, a BIG THANK YOU to all of you that  have stopped by and been kind enough to leave a comment. And I would like to say WELCOME to new followers to my blog.

Thank you for visiting. x

  1. I am sitting here thinking how well you can draw with your non dominant hand! I can't do much with mine at all. I haven't done much collage (took two classes with Claudine Hellmuth once) and loved them. I don't have drawing ability though. Rest up that hand, and hope it is feeling better soon so you can enjoy yourself! Thanks for the visit today! Winnie

  2. I am sure the problems with your thumb are awful however working with your non dominant hand is creating some fascinating results!! BTW texture paste is just like heavy modelling paste though a little more creamy I think. :)

  11. Oh dear - I just visited last weeks post and was hoping this weeks would be better news. I do love what you've done so far - she puts me in mind of Lynne Hoppe's figures. Now - hard as it may be... REST that thumb!

  13. I love your non-dominant-hand drawing. I feel so strongly about such exercises for learning from a holistic facet of artful expression. And that you feel as if you've come to a "stand still," I feel that's the universe's way (and you Muse's way) of telling you to relax … renew … and restore …

    Embrace it and heal well.

  16. Oh dear... sorry to hear you're still having problems with your thumb. It's so boring and frustrating not being able to do what your head and heart are dying to do, isn't it! I've had a similarly frustrating week with health issues preventing me from spending time in my ARTHaven until yesterday afternoon when I wanted to start experimenting with sewing my teabags, only to find the feed dogs on my sewing machine were not operating properly! I spent all afternoon trying to fix the problem, without success, so the machine is now in sewing machine hospital. I am hoping for better things next week but who knows how long the machine will be in dock?

Have a great week, and do try to rest the recalcitrant thumb!
